Teach For India
Teach For India is working towards an India free of poverty, by ending educational inequity in the country. Fifteen years in, it is a movement of over 5,000 alumni working across the education system, reaching 1 in 10 children in India. These alumni come from its two year Fellowship Programme, where Fellows teach in under-resourced classrooms. Over 16,000 Teach For India students have taken their 10th grade board exams so far, with a 95% pass rate across cities.
The Fellowship Selection Team is responsible for making sure each Fellowship cohort is made up of people likely to be excellent teachers and impactful leaders. The team designs and runs the selection model and the systems behind it across 8 cities in India, training and supporting over 200 staff, Fellows and alumni to act as interviewers and reviewers, and monitoring outcomes at each stage to keep the process fair, consistent and accurate.
