PETA India works to stop cruelty to animals across the country. The group focuses on animals used for food, clothing, experiments and entertainment, and on the animals many people see every day on the street. Its work mixes public protest, research, legal pressure and media attention to change what companies and industries do. Staff work with activists, celebrities and journalists to make animal suffering visible and to push for real change. This role sits within PETA India's Campaigns Division, which plans and runs the campaigns, demonstrations and outreach that carry this work into public view.

Role

The Campaigns Assistant keeps PETA India's campaigns moving. You will coordinate campaign projects from start to finish, carry out research and writing that gives campaigns their backbone, and handle the practical side of demonstrations and public events. Much of the work is with people: campaigners inside the organisation, activists who turn up to protest, and vendors who build the props that make a demonstration impossible to ignore.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects supporting PETA India's campaigns, including research, writing, and administrative support
• Work with vendors on demonstration props, and maintain related inventory
• Communicate with activists, attend demonstrations, and organise street theatre-style protests nationwide
• Support campaigns targeting companies affecting animals, and track demonstration/media event outcomes
• Work with Production and Communications teams to create campaign materials and generate media coverage

Requirements

• Graduate with 1+ year of experience in administration, project coordination, or event management
• Fluency in spoken and written Hindi and English, with strong writing and research skills
• Proficiency in MS Office, willingness to travel, and ability to manage multiple projects
• Thorough knowledge of animal rights issues, adherence to a vegan lifestyle, and support for PETA's philosophy
