iDreamCareer works to help students make a successful transition from school to the workplace through career guidance. In 2023-24 alone, iDreamCareer aimed to work with more than 35,000 students across the country.

Role

A 10-month contract role providing career counselling and guidance to students across Sundargarh, Bonai, and Panposh in Odisha. The Career Counsellor will run individual sessions, workshops, and school visits to help students make informed decisions about their career paths, with a strong chance of contract extension based on performance.

Responsibilities

• Conduct individual counselling sessions to understand students' career aspirations, interests, and strengths
• Offer tailored career guidance and help students make informed decisions about their professional paths
• Support students with job search plans, including resume building, cover letters, and interview preparation
• Administer and interpret career assessments to guide students on suitable career options
• Stay updated on industry trends, labour market information, and emerging job opportunities
• Visit government schools to deliver career guidance and participate in community visits
• Develop and run workshops, webinars, or seminars on career-related topics like networking and job search strategies
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records in line with privacy guidelines
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to provide complete career support services
• Build strong understanding of the vocational and professional career landscape in Odisha

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Human Resources, or a related field; Master's degree preferred
• Proven experience in career counselling or a related role, with a track record of helping students reach their career goals
• Strong knowledge of career development theories, job search strategies, and employment trends
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport
• Proficiency in using career assessment tools and resources
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite and career management platforms
• Certification in career counselling or a related field (such as NCC or CCDF) is a plus
• Willingness to work Monday to Saturday and travel to schools and communities
