SEARCH is a rural development NGO based in Andhra Pradesh, formerly registered as Resources Innovative Development Society (RIDS) in 1995. It was renamed SEARCH in 2006 under the tagline "Empowering Communities." Over its 27 year history, the organization has focused on empowering vulnerable communities through participatory, community centred development programmes, with a strong emphasis on sustainable institution building and women's empowerment.

Role

SEARCH is looking for an Officer, Communications to manage its internal and external communications and strengthen its visibility among communities, donors, CSR partners, government departments, media, and the public. This person will document programme activities and impact, create communication materials, manage digital platforms, and support donor reporting. They will work closely with project teams to turn field information and beneficiary experiences into clear, credible stories of change.

Responsibilities

• Plan and maintain a monthly communication and social media calendar
• Keep the website and social media updated regularly
• Collect quality photographs, videos, and field stories every month
• Develop at least two well-written impact stories or case studies each month
• Prepare timely press releases and document events
• Prepare a quarterly communication performance report
• Maintain an updated digital archive of project communication materials
• Support donor reports, presentations, and major organizational events with communication materials

Requirements

• Master's degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, English, Development Communication, Public Relations, Social Sciences, or a related field
• At least 4 years of relevant experience in communications, media, documentation, public relations, or development-sector reporting
• Previous experience with an NGO, CSR programme, development organization, or social enterprise is preferred
• Experience documenting rural development and community-based programmes is an added advantage
• Additional training in digital marketing, photography, videography, graphic design, or content development is a plus
• Strong storytelling and writing skills
• Comfortable managing digital platforms and communication materials
