UPNPplus

unp (1).jpg UPNPplus (Uttar Pradesh Welfare for People Living with HIV/AIDS Society) is a community-based organisation that speaks up for the needs of people living with HIV/AIDS across Uttar Pradesh. It is led by and for the community and puts people living with HIV first in everything it does. Its work helps people get regular treatment, stay healthy, and claim the government support they are entitled to. This role sits within UPNPplus's CSC-2.0 SSHAKTI Program, which runs outreach to help people living with HIV start treatment, stay on it, and get care and social support.

Role

As Community Liaison Health for Jhansi district, you will be the link between people living with HIV and the health services they need. You will visit homes and communities and follow up with people who have missed treatment or are new to it. You will make sure pregnant women and newborns get the care that keeps babies free of HIV, and you will help families apply for welfare schemes. Your steady follow-up will help people stay on treatment and live healthier lives.

Responsibilities

  • Track people who have missed treatment or dropped out of care, and help them return to their ART centre.
  • Support people who have just started HIV treatment during their first three months.
  • Follow up with pregnant women and new mothers to make sure they take their medicines, attend check-ups, and give birth in a hospital, so their babies stay free of HIV.
  • Follow up on infants up to 18 months, making sure they get their medicines and HIV tests on time.
  • Link people who test positive at testing centres to the nearest ART centre so treatment starts quickly.
  • Follow up with couples where one partner has HIV, people on second or third line treatment, and people also being treated for TB.
  • Visit stable clients to check on their health, keep treatment adherence above 80%, and understand what support they still need.
  • Help families fill in forms for welfare schemes, record and check data in project tools, and support the Project Coordinator with reports and other tasks.

Requirements

  • You should have completed your 12th standard education.
  • You need a basic understanding of the National AIDS Control Programme (NACP).
  • You should be willing to work closely with groups of people living with HIV, with care and respect for their privacy.
  • You need reasonable writing and speaking skills to talk with clients and keep simple records.
  • You should be based in or willing to work across Jhansi district, with regular field and home visits.
  • Candidates from communities infected or affected by HIV/AIDS are preferred.

Benefits

  • Monthly pay of ₹10,000.
  • Hands-on experience in community health and HIV care within a national programme.
  • A chance to work in a community-led organisation and make a direct difference in people's lives.
