Holy Cross Welfare Society, Siolim is run by the Sisters of the Cross of Chavanod (SCC), an international Catholic religious congregation founded in 1838 by Mother Claudine Echernier and Fr. Peter Mermier. The Siolim community, based at the Holy Cross Convent in Bardez, Goa, falls under the congregation's Pune Province, which covers Maharashtra and Goa and works with socially and economically backward communities whose lives are often overlooked by mainstream society. The society carries out the congregation's social apostolate through education, healthcare, and community welfare work, alongside the Holy Cross High School run at the same location.

Role

The Community Organiser is the Society's link with women and families in and around Marna, Siolim. You will visit homes, help run monthly women's meetings, and make sure the group's bills, vouchers and records are accurate and up to date. The role is a mix of community work in the field and simple office work on a computer, and it suits someone early in their career in social work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct field visits within the assigned community
• Organise and attend monthly women's meetings
• Verify bills and vouchers
• Maintain accurate records and documentation
• Handle basic computer work and data entry

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree, such as BA, MA, or MSW
• 0 to 2 years of experience
• Comfortable with fieldwork and community engagement
• Basic computer skills for record keeping and data entry
