Nanhi Chhaan Foundation is a not-for-profit organisation whose name comes from two simple ideas: 'Nanhi' is the affectionate word for a little girl, and 'Chhaan' means shade or protection. The foundation works on three causes it believes belong together: the falling ratio of girls to boys and the empowerment of women, the preservation of trees and the protection of the environment, and greater harmony between people of different faiths. Since its launch on 27 August 2008, its work has grown to nine states, including Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. Its office is based in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon. This role sits within Nanhi Chhaan's programmes function, which plans, runs and reports on the foundation's work across these states.
Role
The Coordinator Programmes keeps the foundation's work moving on the ground and on paper. You will hold the details of programme planning, follow up with partners and field teams across states, keep records and reports in good order, and give the leadership a clear picture of what is happening. It is a hands-on role for someone who is organised, writes well in English, and is comfortable working across the foundation's three causes at the same time.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the planning and day to day running of programmes across the states where the foundation works.
- Maintain accurate records, files and databases for each programme.
- Prepare reports, presentations and written updates for the leadership team and for partners.
- Support the organisation of events, campaigns and awareness drives on the girl child, tree preservation and interfaith harmony.
- Handle correspondence, meeting notes and follow up actions for the Gurgaon office.
- Support the leadership with administrative and coordination work as the programmes require.
Requirements
- 5 to 7 years of work experience is the minimum requirement.
- A good command of English, both written and spoken.
- Full computer proficiency, especially in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- A respectful, patient manner when working with schools, communities and partners.
- Ability to work from the foundation's office in Udyog Vihar, Gurgaon.
