Observer Research Foundation (ORF) is an independent, nonpartisan think tank based in Delhi, established in 1990. ORF conducts policy research on governance, foreign policy, security, economy, development, energy, and global governance, providing analysis to decision makers in governments, businesses, academia, and civil society. Over more than three decades, ORF has built a global footprint and plays a role in shaping policy discussions on India's development, with offices in Mumbai, Kolkata, and the United States.

This role sits within the Sustainable Finance in the Indo-Pacific Development Network (SUFIP DN), a joint initiative of ORF and Agence Française de Développement (AFD) that fosters cooperation among public development banks and financing institutions on sustainable development and climate action across the Indo-Pacific region.

Role

The Design Associate will work closely with ORF's design and communications team to create visual content across digital and print platforms. This role supports campaigns, shapes visual narratives, and contributes to a cohesive brand identity, offering hands-on experience across diverse creative projects from social media to event collaterals in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Design creatives for social media platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube, such as posts, carousels, banners, and thumbnails
• Develop visual assets for digital campaigns, reports, presentations, and marketing materials
• Adapt and resize designs across formats while maintaining brand consistency
• Assist with basic motion graphics and short-form video content such as reels, clips, and edits
• Support the design of event collaterals such as backdrops, standees, invites, and digital screens
• Collaborate with the content team to translate ideas into strong visual storytelling
• Maintain organized design files and follow structured workflows

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design, or a related field
• 1 to 3 years of work experience in graphic design or a related field
• A strong portfolio showcasing digital and/or print design work
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Canva, with basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop
• Familiarity with basic video editing tools such as Premiere Pro or CapCut
• Understanding of typography, layout, color, and composition
• Basic understanding of social media design formats and trends
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
• Ability to take feedback and iterate quickly
• Strong visual sensibility and eagerness to learn
