The team works hand in hand with government at every level, and measurement and evidence sit at the centre of how decisions get made. This role sits within Youth Impact's education programme team in Karnataka, which delivers the Ganita Ganaka foundational numeracy programme in government schools. Our work india_JPG.png

Role

The District Coordinator leads the on-ground delivery of the Ganita Ganaka programme across the district. You will be the link between the district administration, the state team, block officials, Cluster Resource Persons and teachers, making sure that training happens well, that classrooms get the support they need, and that progress is tracked honestly. The work is a mix of relationship building with government partners, hands-on training and field support, and managing the field team that delivers day to day.

Responsibilities

  • Support the district administration, block-level officials and Cluster Resource Persons in planning and running Ganita Ganaka activities.
  • Work closely with the Block level associate to keep programme delivery on track.
  • Conduct training sessions and refresher workshops for teachers on programme content and processes.
  • Answer teacher questions and help resolve day-to-day challenges with the programme.
  • Manage the district field team and support their work in schools.
  • Organise teacher and volunteer trainings across multiple schools.
  • Motivate and engage stakeholders at district, block, cluster and school levels.
  • Conduct field visits to monitor progress and give hands-on support to schools.
  • Coordinate reporting and documentation of training sessions, field visits and programme progress.
  • Take part in district, block and cluster review meetings and share feedback that improves delivery.
  • Build strong working relationships with government partners, programme leaders and implementers.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in education, social sciences, development studies or a related field.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Education or Social Work is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience managing development programmes.
  • Experience working with schools and with government partners.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, logistics and execution.
  • Experience running education programmes across multiple sites.
  • Strong stakeholder management experience.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills, including experience writing donor reports.
  • Strong training and facilitation skills.
  • Ability to solve problems, adapt to challenges and think creatively.
  • Proficiency in data management and documentation.
  • Fluency in Kannada and English.
  • Understanding of government education policies and procedures.
  • Willingness to travel regularly to schools across the district.
