Founded by Nandan Nilekani and Srikanth Nadhamuni, eGov Foundation is a 20-year-old technology-for-good organisation that uses open-source digital infrastructure to improve public services and governance. Its platform, DIGIT, works like an operating system for governments, helping them build and scale digital programs in as little as 100 days. eGov currently works with 7 national and 16 sub-national governments across 30 countries, impacting over 1 billion citizens in areas such as public health, urban services, water, sanitation, and social benefits.

Role

You will support documentation and knowledge management for CARE HMIS, an open-source Hospital Management Information System. Working closely with product, engineering, and partnerships teams, you will create clear, well-structured documentation that helps implementation partners deploy and operate CARE HMIS successfully.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain functional, technical, and implementation documentation for CARE HMIS
• Develop user guides, implementation manuals, standard operating procedures, process flows, and training materials
• Work with product managers, engineers, and implementation teams to understand system workflows and document them clearly
• Document APIs, system configurations, integrations, and deployment processes
• Organise and maintain knowledge repositories for easy access and reuse
• Support the creation of partner onboarding and enablement materials
• Review and update existing documentation to keep it accurate and complete

Requirements

• Undergraduate or postgraduate student in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Health Informatics, Public Health, or a related field
• Strong written communication and documentation skills
• Ability to understand and explain complex software products and workflows in simple language
• Basic understanding of software systems, APIs, and technical concepts
• Familiarity with healthcare or health technology systems is a plus
• Detail-oriented and able to work independently
