Guardians of Dreams runs the Capacity Accelerator Program (CAP), working to transform care practices in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) by addressing gaps in funding, expertise, and contextual support. As an early-stage non-profit, the organization is built for people who want to make a serious, long-term commitment to improving outcomes for children in care.
Role
The Embedded Manager works closely with up to five Child Care Institutions, including their leaders, staff, and other stakeholders, to improve care and management practices. This role also partners with the in-house Academy and Operations teams to turn best practices into real, on-ground improvements. Over time, Embedded Managers build knowledge across healthcare, education, mental health, life skills, fundraising, and staff development.
Responsibilities
- Work with CCI stakeholders to improve childcare and management practices
- Spend significant time on-ground at CCIs to build context and implement initiatives
- Build strong working relationships with CCI leaders, staff, and other stakeholders
- Provide strategic advice and technical support to CCI teams
- Share feedback with the in-house Academy to improve SOPs and training modules
- Support CCI staff through training, workshops, and other learning methods
- Continuously learn and adapt alongside other Managers, CCIs, and subject matter experts
- Travel to and stay in Bangalore periodically, up to once a month, for meetings and training
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree
- 2+ years of field experience in education, health, or allied sectors, with meaningful time spent working directly with communities, institutions, or children
- Experience or strong interest in childcare or organizational development
- Experience managing partnerships and facilitating training or group workshops
- Strong documentation and report writing skills
- Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial, fast-changing environment
- Fluent in English and Kannada
- Able to travel frequently and handle the physical demands of regular field work
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing on-ground realities
- Good communication skills across email, phone, and in-person settings
- Comfortable with tools like Google Suite and MS Office
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
