ETASHA Society is a non-profit organisation that works for the economic and social empowerment of young people and women from marginalised communities. It does this through employability training, entrepreneurship development and livelihood support. Its training models are built around close community engagement, so families and neighbourhoods back the change along with the individual. The aim is steady, lasting work and income, not a one-time course.

Role

The Field Officer is ETASHA's daily presence in the project villages. You will meet women and their families at home and in village gatherings, bring them into the training, and then stay with them as they start their businesses. Much of the work is mentoring and handholding: sitting with an entrepreneur over her records, solving a problem in her enterprise, and tracking how her income changes month by month. You report to the Senior Coordinator and work closely with the Empowerment Field Coordinator and the Sahayikas who mentor within the community.

Responsibilities

• Mobilise 220+ women through village meetings, awareness campaigns, home visits, and family meetings
• Identify and mobilise women interested in entrepreneurship, and select beneficiaries based on need and potential
• Organise community launch events and build family and community acceptance for women entrepreneurs
• Support entrepreneurship and financial literacy training sessions and maintain attendance and training records
• Support Sahayikas in mentoring women and strengthening the entrepreneur collective
• Provide mentoring and handholding support to women entrepreneurs, including record keeping and enterprise management
• Facilitate weekly support circle meetings and monthly gender and rights awareness sessions
• Visit enterprises regularly to provide weekly monitoring, bookkeeping support, and troubleshooting
• Collect monitoring and evaluation data, including attendance, revenue and expense records, pre and post tests, feedback, and success stories
• Track business performance and income changes using the Business Health Matrix Share daily and weekly field updates, challenges, and success stories with the Senior Coordinator

Requirements

• Graduate in any discipline
• 2 to 3 years of experience in community development programmes
• Strong community engagement skills
• Ability to work and live in rural environments with basic amenities
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to live in basic accommodation near the project villages

Benefits

• Monthly pay of ₹20,000 to ₹25,000, depending on skills and experience.
