The organization works closely with central and state governments and is supported by several national and international donors and agencies.

Role

The Finance Manager will manage all finance and accounting functions for CWS, harnessing their finance and accounting expertise to support wildlife conservation work across India. This role is responsible for all activities related to Finance & Accounts at CWS, including ERP implementation, statutory compliance, budgeting, and fund management.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and review day to day accounts using Tally or other accounting software
  • Lead end to end ERP implementation across Finance, Accounts, HR, and Operations
  • Verify and process employee expenses and vendor payments accurately and on time
  • Attend statutory and internal audits, and liaise with auditors on due diligence
  • Manage project accounting, job cost reporting, and financial projections for active projects
  • Coordinate fiscal reporting including revenue and expense tracking, balance sheet reporting, and budget submissions to funding agencies
  • Prepare financial MIS reports customized to different stakeholder needs
  • Manage investments, funds, liquidity, and cash flow to meet operational needs
  • Prepare, execute, and report budgets, including budget vs. actuals and impact analysis
  • Provide management with a comprehensive operating budget
  • Ensure compliance with FCRA and other statutory regulations, including timely filing of Returns, Income Tax, TDS, EPF, and Professional Tax
  • Maintain and follow up on accounts receivable and accounts payable
  • Provide cost analysis support and ensure compliance with contractual and programmatic requirements
  • Ensure expenditures comply with organizational guidelines and prevent fraud or misuse of funds

Requirements

  • 6 to 8 years of experience managing finance for a development sector organization
  • Experience in a national level organization with annual operating budgets of ₹10-15 crore or more
  • CA, CA-Inter, or MBA in Finance
  • Working knowledge of Tally, preferably ERP 9.00
  • Strong analytical thinking and financial acumen, with speed and accuracy
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and ERP systems
  • Results driven, self motivated, and able to work independently
  • Experience in F&A operations within a Trust or NGO setup
