The/Nudge Institute is an action institute working to build resilient livelihoods and alleviate poverty across India. The team works with women, farmers, tribal communities, and youth in rural development, agriculture, skilling, and economic inclusion, in partnership with more than 15 central and state governments. Their work currently reaches over 15 lakh people across 10 states. Through an incubator, accelerator, and grand challenges, The/Nudge has supported over 200 social entrepreneurs. The organisation was founded with support from 130 philanthropists, 40 corporates, and 15 foundations, all working toward a poverty-free India.

Role

Help The/Nudge become a more AI-capable organisation by designing, building, and deploying AI-powered tools, prototypes, and automation solutions. This role works closely with programme, strategy, and operations teams to identify workflows that can be improved using AI and to build practical solutions that support delivery at scale.

Responsibilities

• Work with internal teams to understand operational workflows and identify opportunities for AI integration or automation
• Design, prototype, and develop AI-powered tools, custom chatbots, and internal applications using LLM APIs, prompt engineering, or low-code and no-code platforms
• Build AI solutions to support data analysis, automated report generation, and knowledge management across programmes
• Research emerging AI technologies and frameworks relevant to the organisation's work
• Help train and upskill team members on everyday AI tools to build organisation-wide AI capability
• Document product-building processes, system architecture, and technical learnings for future use

Requirements

• 0 to 2 years of hands-on experience building AI or machine learning applications; currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field
• Self-taught developers with a strong portfolio are also welcome to apply
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with automation workflows using tools such as LangChain, Make .com, or n8n
• Experience integrating APIs and working with vector databases
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and prototyping skills
• Ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical team members
• Proactive approach to process improvement, system strengthening, and automation
• Genuine alignment with using technology for large-scale social impact
