The/Nudge Institute

The/Nudge is an action institute working to build resilient livelihoods and end poverty. It partners with women, farmers, tribal communities, and youth across rural development, agriculture, skilling, and economic inclusion, working with over 15 central and state governments to reach 25 million Indians across 10 states. Through its InSight Program, The/Nudge is working with governments to make India free of uncorrected presbyopia, a common age related near vision problem that affects around 1 in 3 adults over 30. Many people, especially in rural areas, do not have easy access to reading glasses, even though studies show this simple fix can raise income by 20 percent and productivity by 34 percent. The program uses a community led model to close this gap and help people work and earn better.

Role

A data focused internship supporting the InSight Program, which works with governments to make reading glasses accessible across India and help people with uncorrected near vision impairment work and earn better.

Responsibilities

• Clean, organize, and transform raw data from Excel, CSV, and SQL sources into usable datasets
• Build and maintain dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Data Studio to track program progress
• Use Excel for tasks like pivot tables, formulas, lookups, and data summaries
• Work with the operations and strategy team to turn program questions into clear data insights and reports
• Document data processes and maintain accuracy and version control
• Support one time data requests and exploratory analysis to help the team make informed decisions

Requirements

• College graduate with up to 2 years of experience and a strong academic record
• Basic knowledge of Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data cleaning
• Basic knowledge of Python or SQL, able to write simple queries, filters, and joins
• Some familiarity with tools like Power BI or Data Studio, or willingness to learn quickly
• Logical and analytical thinking with strong attention to detail
• Good communication skills and comfort working in a fast moving, sometimes unclear environment
• Eager to learn and able to turn open ended questions into clear data tasks
