The Reporters' Collective

The Reporters' Collective (TRC) is a New Delhi-based deep-dive journalism collaborative that produces evidence-based investigative reporting on issues of public interest. TRC is a member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network and has supported journalists across India in producing impactful stories on governance, policy, and social issues.

Role

Two long-term fellowships are available for experienced reporters or editors in India who want dedicated time and financial support to pursue ambitious, complex investigative journalism. Fellows will be anchored at an independent registered newsroom of their choice, not at TRC.

Responsibilities

• Produce a strong body of investigative journalism over 12 months
• Work under the editorial supervision of a host newsroom registered in India
• Pursue complex, evidence-based public-interest stories that require sustained effort and institutional support
• Maintain rigorous reporting standards throughout the fellowship period

Requirements

• At least 4 years of experience in investigative reporting or editorial supervision of evidence-based journalism
• Must be a text-first reporter or editor
• Must submit a letter of support from a registered Indian newsroom with a track record of investigative work, willing to host and supervise the fellow
• Journalists from disadvantaged or underrepresented backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply
