The Reporters' Collective (TRC) is a New Delhi-based investigative journalism collaborative producing rigorous, evidence-based public-interest reporting. A member of the Global Investigative Journalism Network, TRC supports journalists across India in telling stories that matter through sustained editorial and financial support.
Role
Thirty reporting grants of ₹15,000 each are available for journalists pursuing on-ground investigative stories across India. This grant is designed to help reporters get to where the story is and ensure no important story goes untold due to lack of resources.
Responsibilities
- Pursue an original, on-ground investigative story in the public interest
- Work under the editorial supervision of a host newsroom registered in India
- Submit a clear, well-developed story idea as part of the application
Requirements
- A clearly written story idea of up to 200 words
- Must submit a letter of support from a registered Indian newsroom with a track record of investigative work, willing to host and supervise the fellow
- The story idea must be original, unpublished, and free from plagiarism
