Role
This role supports financial management, compliance, reporting, and administrative operations at Nayi Disha, working closely with leadership to streamline financial operations, optimize resource allocation, and enhance administrative efficiencies — with a focus on bookkeeping, statutory compliance, and donor-facing financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Maintain ledgers, journals, and financial records; record daily transactions in Tally; reconcile bank statements
- Prepare monthly/quarterly financial summaries for management and donors
- Assist in drafting budgets, monitoring expenses, and ensuring adherence to financial plans
- Ensure timely filing of statutory returns (ESI, PF, PT, TDS), and maintain documentation for audits
- Support donor reporting requirements
- Handle office correspondence, maintain records, assist with scheduling, and support procurement of office supplies
- Liaise with program staff to track project expenses and ensure proper documentation
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
- 1-3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounts management (NGO or small business preferred)
- Familiarity with accounting software such as Tally
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Basic knowledge of MS Office tools (Excel, Word, email)
- Good communication skills in English, Hindi, and local language
- Detail-oriented, reliable, and able to work independently in a small team environment
- Integrity and confidentiality in handling financial data
