The/Nudge Institute works to end poverty by helping families build incomes that last. It works with women, farmers, tribal communities and young people on farming, skills and access to money, alongside more than 15 central and state government partners. Its livelihood work has reached 10 states, with government funding to support 1.25 million people. It has also backed more than 200 social entrepreneurs through its incubator and challenges. This role sits within The/Nudge's Asha Kiran programme, which works with government and private partners to help women in poor rural households earn a steady living from backyard poultry and goat rearing.

Role

As Junior Associate, Operations, you will make sure the Asha Kiran programme runs well at block level in Banda and Hamirpur, working closely with the District Manager. The women the programme serves are small and landless farmers, often managing their homes while men migrate for work. You will select and train village entrepreneurs called Pashu Sakhis and Goat Mobilisers, help families care for their goats, collect and check programme data, and work with block government teams so more households are reached.

Responsibilities

• Lead village and gram panchayat scoping and the selection of Goat Mobilisers and Pashu Sakhis.
• Mobilise communities to grow the programme and reach more households.
• Train Goat Mobilisers and Pashu Sakhis in goat care and village enterprise.
• Mentor Pashu Sakhis through regular refresher sessions so they grow into confident village entrepreneurs.
• Hold focus group discussions and group sessions with households on goat health and family progress.
• Plan field activities carefully and see them through on time.
• Collect, enter and report programme data on time.
• Verify programme data using different checks.
• Document case studies, video stories and household experiences to show the programme's impact.
• Coordinate with the block SRLM team and the block veterinary department.
• Support pilots, experiments and studies at block level.
• Live the values and working spirit of The/Nudge in daily work.

Requirements

• A graduate degree in any subject.
• At least 2 years of experience in programme management or livelihood work.
• Experience working with rural communities.
• Experience working with SRLM or other government agencies.
• Clear communication skills for leading community meetings.
• Ability to mobilise communities and build their trust.
• Strong planning and field execution skills.
• Comfort with collecting, entering and checking data.
• Ability to write case studies and capture video stories from the field.
• Willingness to work at block level in Banda or Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh.
• Experience training rural SHG women on livelihood activities is a plus.
• Experience running a goat rearing programme is a plus.
