Azim Premji Foundation
Azim Premji Foundation is one of India's leading non-profit organisations, working to improve public health and education for underserved communities. Since 2022, the Foundation has been running an integrated community health programme across five locations in Bengaluru. Each location has a Health Centre with a team of doctors, nurses, a pharmacist, and a lab technician, alongside a team of Community Health Workers managed by a local partner organisation. The team also works closely with local government health systems to ensure communities get access to the care and benefits they are entitled to.
Role
Azim Premji Foundation is looking for a Medical Officer to work at the front lines of community health in urban Bengaluru. You will provide primary clinical care, support community health outreach, and help connect patients to the wider health system.
Responsibilities
- Provide primary clinical services to patients from urban settlements around the Health Centre
- Conduct health screenings and connect patients to secondary or tertiary hospitals when needed
- Support and coordinate with Community Health Workers on health awareness, community screenings, and patient follow-ups
- Educate community members on health-seeking behaviour, preventive care, nutrition, and hygiene
- Collaborate with local government bodies and partner organisations to ensure communities can access holistic health interventions
- Manage day to day medical operations at the Health Centre

Requirements
- MBBS with a Postgraduate degree in Family Medicine
- Valid Karnataka Medical Council (KMC) registration
- 4 to 8 years of clinical work experience
- Fluency in Kannada and Hindi is preferred
- Prior experience working with underserved communities is an advantage
- Willingness to work full-time, six days a week in a fast-changing community health environment
- A strong commitment to serving communities with empathy, patience, and resilience
