YosAid Innovation Foundation
YosAid Innovation Foundation works to improve health outcomes and strengthen health systems in India. It teaches patients and their families simple, practical health skills and good health habits. Working together with hospitals and the government, it trains family caregivers so they can better look after their loved ones. This role sits within YosAid Innovation Foundation's Implementation team, which runs the Care Companion Program with partner public hospitals.
Role
As Program Coordinator, you will help build a steady, hands-on way for people using public hospitals to learn about their health. You will run the Care Companion Program at a set of partner hospitals, train hospital staff, check that health classes are going well, and help the team test new ideas. This is a full-time, one-year contract role with a lot of travel to health facilities across a few districts of Assam.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate the day-to-day running of the Care Companion Program at partner hospitals, supporting the Program Manager and Senior Program Associate both on-site and off-site.
- Lead the relationship with a set of partner public hospitals as their main contact, solving problems as they come up.
- Attend review meetings at hospital and district level to build trust and keep the programme running smoothly.
- Track programme data for your hospitals and work with the Program Manager to fix any problems the data shows.
- Conduct monthly class quality checks at a randomly chosen set of hospitals.
- Prepare training materials, take part in mock sessions, and run training of trainers (ToT) sessions in local languages.
- Identify training needs and arrange booster trainings, feedback sessions and field visits, while supporting new facility launches and guiding staff on the ground.
- Work with the in-house design and content team to try out new ideas in hospitals and gather feedback that shapes programme decisions.
Requirements
- A background in healthcare or management (MPH, MHA, MBA, BPT or a nursing degree) or an MSW.
- 6 months to 3 years of relevant work experience; freshers with a good academic record and training experience in the government health system during their course will also be considered.
- Fluency in Assamese is a must, along with Hindi and English; any other language is a plus.
- Comfort using MS Office, Google Drive and common computer tools.
- Willingness to be based at the district headquarters and to travel a lot to district hospitals, sub-district hospitals, community health centres, primary health centres and other health centres, sometimes for long stretches or with a move to another part of the state.
- Ability to work with government health staff in a respectful and sensitive way while making sure training goals are met.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills and comfort working as part of a team.
Benefits
- Hands-on experience running a health programme inside public hospitals and the district health system.
- Close work with a programme team and in-house designers and content creators who test new ideas in the field.
- Growth in training, monitoring and partnership skills that carry into a long-term career in public health.
- Competitive pay for a full-time, one-year contract.
