Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is a global health organisation working to save lives and reduce the burden of disease in low and middle income countries. In India, CHAI operates through its Indian entity, WJCF, which has worked since 2007 to strengthen government-owned health systems using data-driven approaches and strong partnerships with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and State Health Departments. CHAI supports programmes across 19 states and union territories in India, covering areas such as tuberculosis, HIV, immunisation, and maternal health.
Role
The Program Officer will support the Malaria Mukt Gadchiroli Abhiyan, a three year malaria elimination initiative led by the Government of Maharashtra in Gadchiroli district. Based at the Program Management Unit, this role will manage surveillance data, build dashboards, and support evidence based decision making to help India move toward its goal of eliminating malaria by 2027.
Responsibilities
- Clean, analyse, and validate data from platforms such as IHIP, DVDMS, and LLIN tracking systems.
- Develop and maintain dashboards and reports for district and block level performance.
- Support the design and roll-out of early warning and alert response systems for malaria surveillance.
- Prepare data summaries, fact sheets, and scorecards for monthly and quarterly programme reviews.
- Contribute to operational research linked to the malaria elimination programme.
- Train field and facility staff on data entry, quality checks, and using data for decisions.
- Provide inputs for donor reports, programme learning documents, and technical presentations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Data Science, Public Health, or a related field.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in programme analytics or monitoring and evaluation roles.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.
- Experience with health surveillance platforms such as IHIP or DVDMS is desirable.
- Working knowledge of Marathi is desirable.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to present data both visually and narratively.
- Must be based in Gadchiroli for the first 3 months. After that, remote work is possible with travel to Gadchiroli as needed.
