Ekjut

Ekjut is a non-profit voluntary organisation in India. It partners with indigenous communities, people living in underserved districts, and urban communities facing deprivation. Its work is built around three themes: Survive, Thrive and Transform. This role sits within Ekjut's SAHAS (Societal Action for Healthy Ageing Solutions) project, which brings community workers and health professionals together to help people in and around Chakradharpur, Jharkhand, stay healthy as they grow older and avoid early frailty.

Role

As Project Coordinator, you will keep the SAHAS project running smoothly on the ground. Reporting to the Project Lead, you will plan and track training sessions and community meetings that use the Participatory Learning and Action (PLA) approach, where community members work together to name their problems, find solutions and act on them. You will also look after project records and equipment, and help the team gather and understand data to see what is working.

Responsibilities

  • Report directly to the Project Lead and work closely with the project team.
  • Schedule, coordinate and monitor PLA and intervention training sessions and community meetings.
  • Arrange and monitor tele-sessions.

  • Support qualitative and quantitative data collection, and help the team analyse, review and reflect on the findings.
  • Help prepare quarterly, half-yearly and final project reports.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree, with preference for candidates who hold a master's or postgraduate degree.
  • Good communication skills, especially in Hindi and English, with priority given to those who speak Ho.
  • Basic computer skills, including MS Office and Excel, are essential.
  • Ability to work well in a team and behave professionally with colleagues and community members.
  • Willingness to be based in Chakradharpur block, West Singhbhum district, Jharkhand.

Benefits

  • Monthly pay of up to ₹30,000 CTC, which includes EPF, ESIC, gratuity and taxes.
  • Hands-on experience with the PLA approach, a community-led way of improving health.
  • Work alongside a team of community workers and health professionals.
  • Help older people in your region live healthier lives.
