This role sits within Mission Education, Smile Foundation's flagship education vertical, driving project execution across multiple locations nationwide.
Role
The Project In-charge will be responsible for planning, coordinating, implementing, monitoring, and reporting education projects under Mission Education. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills to drive project outcomes, strengthen implementation systems, ensure donor and government compliance, and achieve project objectives within approved timelines and budgets, working closely with project teams, government departments, donors, corporate partners, and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, monitoring, and review of education projects across multiple locations
- Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly implementation plans, ensuring timely achievement of milestones
- Ensure quality implementation of programmes related to school education, foundational learning, STEM education, digital learning, teacher capacity building, and community engagement
- Establish and oversee systems for monitoring project progress, outputs, outcomes, and impact
- Conduct field visits, implementation reviews, and stakeholder consultations
- Prepare donor reports, project reports, dashboards, case studies, and other project documentation
- Build and maintain relationships with government departments, education authorities, schools, corporate partners, donors, and NGOs
- Represent the organization in project-related meetings, forums, conferences, and events
- Monitor project budgets, review expenditure, and coordinate with Finance, Procurement, HR, and MEAL teams
- Guide, mentor, and monitor project teams, conducting regular performance assessments
- Document best practices and lessons learned, and contribute to proposal development and strategic planning
Requirements
- Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Education, Development Studies, Management, Public Policy, or related discipline
- 5-7 years of relevant experience in project management, programme implementation, and stakeholder engagement in the education or development sector
- Experience managing multi-location projects and coordinating with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in CSR-funded education projects preferred, along with experience working with government education departments
- Understanding of NEP 2020, Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN), STEM education, and teacher development programmes preferred
- Strong project management, leadership, and stakeholder management abilities
- Excellent report writing, documentation, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MIS systems, and digital collaboration tools
- Fluency in Hindi and Punjabi required; English proficiency desirable
- Willingness to travel extensively to project locations
