United Way Mumbai is a nonprofit that brings together companies, government bodies, community groups and volunteers to solve problems that affect people's daily lives. It runs projects in health, education, livelihoods and the environment, many of them funded by companies through their social responsibility budgets. Its health work includes improving public health facilities and running community programmes on nutrition and disease prevention. This role sits within United Way Mumbai's health team, which runs donor-funded health projects alongside government health services.

Role

As Project Lead for Health Projects, you will plan, run and track health projects funded by different donors across several locations. You will work closely with government officials, consultants, vendors and field teams so that each project reaches people on time and uses its funds well. This is a full-time consultancy role from October 2026 to March 2027, based in Mumbai with regular field travel.

Responsibilities

• Manage ground-level execution of health projects, coordinating vendors, consultants, and implementation teams.
• Build and maintain partnerships with government departments through regular updates and senior-level meetings.
• Develop annual implementation plans, track project milestones, manage budgets/deadlines, and co-design project proposals.
• Perform frequent field site visits to evaluate progress, collect data, solve operational issues, and prepare standardized reports and presentations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Public Health) with 5 to 6 years of experience in on-the-ground program implementation.
• Strong background in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and field-level program organization.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with strong written and spoken English skills.
• Based at the Mumbai office with a willingness to travel regularly for field site visits.

Benefits

• Monthly consultancy fee of ₹70,000 to ₹80,000, depending on qualifications, experience and merit.
