Role
As Project Officer, you will lead the Balarampur programme from planning to delivery. You will guide and grow the local team, build strong ties with community groups and local partners, and make sure the programme brings real, lasting change for children, especially the most vulnerable. You will also make sure children stay safe, take part in decisions that affect them, and are closely followed through the sponsorship programme.
Responsibilities
- Lead planning and delivery of the programme so work is done well and on time
- Hire, keep and motivate skilled local staff, and spot and support high performers
- Coach staff on the job and help the team learn and reflect as the work goes on
- Build partnerships with local groups and raise resources for the programme
- Lead the selection of children for sponsorship and build sponsorship into programme design so it is fun and meaningful for children
- Work closely with the Sponsorship Manager and team on sponsorship tasks and multi-year plans
- Make sure the monitoring plan includes children and that every registered child is followed up as per World Vision India standards
- Make sure staff and partners understand and follow the Child Protection Policy
- Respond quickly and properly to any child protection incident
- Raise awareness across the programme area on preventing and reporting child protection incidents
- Involve children in all parts of the programme in ways that suit their age
- Prepare clear, evidence-based reports and sponsorship updates
Requirements
- Master of Social Work or another postgraduate degree
- At least 5 years of experience in development work
- Open to local applicants only
- Strong project management skills
- Good understanding of local issues, community needs, and the social and cultural setting of the area
- Knowledge of research methods, basic statistics and data collection tools
- Understanding of programme design, monitoring and evaluation (DME) processes and standards such as LEAP
- Skill in presenting data through graphs, charts and tables, and explaining what they show
- Ability to build networks and work well with partners
- Clear spoken and written communication
- Good people skills and ability to lead a team
