Azim Premji Foundation is a non-profit organisation working to improve the quality of education in government schools across India. The Foundation partners with state governments, teachers and communities to create meaningful and lasting change in the lives of children, especially those from underserved backgrounds.

Role

The Resource Person will support the implementation of urban development programmes across the allotted geography in Chennai. This is a field-based role that involves working closely with field staff and partner coordinators to ensure programme interventions are implemented effectively, while strengthening capacity building, community engagement, MIS systems, and programme reporting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure programme interventions are implemented effectively on the ground and aligned with programme objectives.
• Work closely with field staff and coordinators across the allotted geography to support programme delivery and address community needs.
• Provide supportive supervision to welfare rights, children's centre, youth centre and elderly centre coordinators through regular field visits and operational support.
• Identify training needs, support capacity building initiatives and help develop learning plans for partner teams.
• Facilitate coordination meetings and participate in fortnightly, monthly and quarterly programme review meetings.
• Ensure effective use of MIS systems, support their implementation in the field, prepare programme reports, and maintain familiarity with programme budgets and utilisation reports.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of experience in a programme role within a civil society organisation at the ward, zone, or field level.
• Experience using MIS systems.
• Familiarity with basic budgeting and reading utilisation reports is desirable.
• Proficiency in Tamil and English is mandatory.
• Must own a two-wheeler and be willing to travel extensively within Chennai.
