School Coordinator in Pune | VOPA | ₹2.5-3.3 LPA
VOPA
VOPA is a Pune-based organisation that works to strengthen public education in Maharashtra so that every child in a government school learns to read, write and do basic maths. It builds simple digital tools that teachers and school leaders can actually use in a classroom, and works alongside the state education system rather than around it. Its NIPUN Maharashtra work supports foundational literacy and numeracy assessments across thousands of schools. The organisation puts a lot of care into making technology usable by teachers who are new to it. This role sits within VOPA's NIPUN programme team, which supports schools on the ground to use the assessment app and feeds what it learns back into the programme.

Role
The School Coordinator is the person schools see and trust. About half the time is spent visiting assigned schools in and around Pune to sit with teachers and headmasters, help them use the NIPUN Maharashtra app, and solve small problems before they become big ones. The other half is spent in the Kothrud office, tracking how each school is doing, keeping records of every visit, and telling the programme team clearly what is working and what is stuck.
Responsibilities
- Visit assigned schools on a regular schedule to support teachers and headmasters.
- Handhold teachers and headmasters in using the NIPUN Maharashtra app for foundational literacy and numeracy assessments.
- Troubleshoot on-ground problems with app usage and data entry.
- Record videos of students and teachers using the app for training and documentation, following VOPA's and the school's child safeguarding and consent protocol.
- Build working relationships of trust with school staff.
- Track app usage and assessment progress across all assigned schools.
- Report school-level issues, gaps and feedback to the core NIPUN team.
- Maintain visit logs and school-wise documentation.
- Prepare summaries and reports of school visits.
- Support SCERT and district-level correspondence relevant to assigned schools.

- Flag challenges early, including connectivity issues, device problems and teacher hesitation.

- A graduate or post-graduate degree.
- A background in Education, Social Work or another relevant discipline.
- 0 to 2 years of work experience.
