Senior Global Recruiting Manager – Talent Acquisition in New Delhi | Gates Foundation
Gates Foundation
Gates Foundation is the largest nonprofit working to reduce poverty, disease and inequity around the world. It was founded on a simple idea: every person, whoever they are and wherever they live, should have the chance to live a healthy and productive life. The foundation works across health, development and education programmes in Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, and believes its own staff should reflect the diversity of the communities it serves. It backs that belief with strong benefits and a workplace built for people to grow. This role sits within the foundation's People team, in the Talent Acquisition group, which partners with leaders and managers to find the best global talent for the foundation's work.

Role
The Senior Global Recruiting Manager leads a team of experienced Global Recruiting Partners based in Abuja, London and Nairobi, covering hiring across Africa, Asia, and Europe, the Middle East and East Asia. You will build and run the full talent acquisition strategy for several divisions and regions, act as a trusted talent advisor to regional leadership, and personally run the most senior and most important searches. Alongside filling open roles, you will build long-term pipelines of senior leaders and specialists so the foundation is ready for the talent it will need in the years ahead. The position is based in New Delhi and reports to the Deputy Director, Talent Acquisition.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of experienced global recruiters, set shared goals, and build a steady team culture that keeps delivering through change.
- Serve as a strategic talent advisor to regional leaders and HR partners, and shape hiring strategies around their priorities.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with regional teams, hiring managers and other key partners.
- Develop and drive talent strategies that widen and diversify the candidate pipeline.
- Join talent strategy discussions, hiring meetings and headcount planning sessions to understand each role deeply, then map the criteria and write clear position descriptions.
- Guide and influence hiring decisions with talent insights, market data, competitive intelligence and analysis of the recruiting landscape.
- Run senior-level searches end to end, covering sourcing, candidate development, interviewing, selection and offer negotiation.
- Work with HR partners so that talent gaps and succession planning feed into the overall hiring strategy.
- Use data and analytics to build and deliver a rolling 12 month and longer hiring plan for executive and leadership roles.
- Use tools such as Talent Neuron and LinkedIn to map organisations, target talent and build market knowledge.
- Share recruiting processes and good practice with the wider recruiting team.
- Take part in special projects across Talent Acquisition and operations, and represent the regional voice in internal forums.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in business, human resources or a related subject, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 10 years of talent acquisition or closely related experience.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of in-house experience in the private sector, consulting or nonprofit organisations.
- Proven record of managing complex regional and global recruitment across many functions and seniority levels in a fast-paced, high-volume setting.
- At least 2 years of experience leading executive-level searches, either in a search firm or in-house.
- Deep sourcing expertise, preferably with a focus on identifying and attracting diverse talent.
- Strong focus on action and outcomes, with the ability to generate a high-quality candidate pipeline.
- Experience designing and testing new programmes, tools, technologies and processes that support hiring needs.
- Experience using data and analytics to build short-term and long-term hiring plans.
- Ability to work well in a complex, matrixed organisation while also working independently.
- Excellent judgement in handling confidential information, competing priorities and complex issues with discretion and care.
- Strong collaboration, critical thinking and project management skills across cross-functional work.
- Curiosity, resourcefulness and resilience, with comfort in shifting priorities and unclear situations.
- A track record of building trust with individuals, teams and senior leaders.
Benefits
- Comprehensive medical, dental and vision cover for employees and their families, with no premiums.
- Generous paid time off, paid family leave and regional holidays.
- Foundation-paid retirement contribution.
- Opportunities to join several employee communities and take part in cross-team projects.
- A workplace committed to diversity, equity and inclusion, and to helping people grow personally and professionally.
- Global exposure across Africa, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, working with senior leaders on mission-driven hiring.
