Foundation for Advancing Science and Technology (FAST India) is a non-profit working to help India become one of the top three science and technology nations in the world. It was founded by entrepreneur and researcher Varun Aggarwal and philanthropist Ashish Dhawan. FAST India works closely with government and public bodies, including the Office of the Principal Scientific Adviser to the Government of India, the Capacity Building Commission, the Department of Science and Technology and the Anusandhan National Research Foundation, along with leading academic institutions. Its work aims to open up and strengthen the way science and technology grow in the country. This role sits within FAST India's Industry team, which works with industry, start-ups and government to shape policy for deep tech sectors.

Role
As Senior Program Associate, you will bring policy and research skills to the Industry team. You will study science and technology policy, work with industry and government partners, and help put FAST India's strategy into action. This role suits someone who enjoys a start-up setting and cares about public impact.
Responsibilities
- Research science, technology and innovation policy across deep tech sectors and prepare clear summaries
- Develop concept notes, presentations, policy papers and guidance notes for government engagements
- Draft operational guidelines that match FAST India's strategic priorities
- Turn strategy ideas into workplans with milestones, KPIs and monitoring frameworks
- Track news and trends in Indian and global science policy, government programmes and political economy
- Build and maintain strong relationships with industry leaders, start-up founders, government departments and academic institutions
- Use insights from these engagements to inform sector analysis and new strategic interventions
- Prepare policy briefs, talking points and external communications for senior stakeholders
- Support FAST India's science communication work and partnerships with academic and industry leaders
- Coordinate seminars, webinars, symposia, panel discussions and industry dialogues
- Create knowledge products that share FAST India's work
Requirements
- Master's degree or equivalent in Economics, Law, Public Policy, Political Science, Management or a related field
- 2-4 years of experience in policy research and government or private consulting
- Excellent research, policy writing and data analysis skills
- Strong conceptual and analytical thinking
- Strong skills in PowerPoint and Excel
- Ability to present complex data clearly using data visualisation tools
- Comfort working across government, industry and academia
- Exceptional writing and communication skills
- A proactive, self-driven and collaborative way of working
- A desire to keep learning, reading and engaging with many topics
- Interest in science and technology; a basic understanding is fine if you are willing to learn
- Based in or willing to work from New Delhi
