Role
Assess, diagnose, and deliver speech-language therapy for children with communication and language disorders in Child Care Institutions working closely with caregivers, multidisciplinary teams, and partner centres to support each child's development and readiness for family-based care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments; deliver tailored therapy sessions for children
- Monitor each child's progress, update therapy plans based on outcomes, and maintain clear clinical records
- Train caregivers, staff, and other stakeholders in communication support techniques
- Create low-cost therapy materials and communication aids suitable for resource-constrained settings
- Support outreach programmes and community awareness activities; provide services at partner centres as needed
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams to ensure holistic care for each child
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology from a recognised institution
- Valid professional registration or licence as required by relevant regulatory authorities
- Hands-on experience in assessing and managing speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders
- Experience working with children with special needs in clinical, educational, or community settings is preferred
- Experience working within multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams and engaging with caregivers
- Ability to adapt interventions effectively in resource-limited and outreach settings
- Strong clinical knowledge in communication disorders, language disorders, and dysphagia management
- Excellent interpersonal, documentation, and teamwork skills
- Commitment to child rights, inclusion, and ethical, non-discriminatory, child-centred practice
