Scope for Change (SFC)

Scope for Change is a non-profit that helps people and communities build better lives through education, women's empowerment, health, social well-being and care for the environment. Its main project, Hamein Padhao Hamein Badhao, runs learning centres in poor and left-out neighbourhoods so that children who might miss out on school can learn well. The team believes good learning gives children the skills and confidence to shape their own futures and break the cycle of poverty.

Role

As a Teaching Intern, you will teach small batches of children from classes 1 to 5 and help them grow in confidence and learning. You will plan lessons, give extra help to children who need it, run workshops on everyday topics, and support the organisation's social media. This is a full-time, in-office internship for 6 months in Delhi or Gurgaon, and a good first step for anyone who wants to work in education and community development.

Responsibilities

• Teach several batches of children from classes 1 to 5.
• Teach a range of subjects, including Hindi, English, Maths, EVS, general knowledge and science.
• Prepare daily lesson plans that match the learning goals of the programme.
• Give one-to-one help to children who need extra support with their studies.
• Keep accurate records of each child's attendance, progress and results.
• Organise workshops on health, hygiene, careers and digital skills.
• Work with other volunteers and staff to support the organisation's projects.
• Support Scope for Change's social media channels with posts and updates.

Requirements

• Live in Delhi or Gurgaon.
• Available for a full-time internship in the office.
• Able to start between 17 October and 21 November 2026.
• Available for the full 6 months.
• Good written Hindi & English.
• Comfortable teaching Maths and other primary school subjects.
• Interest in working with children and in community education.
• Basic organising and record-keeping skills.
• Some knowledge of social media is helpful.
• Freshers are welcome, and women starting or restarting their careers are encouraged to apply.
