Rotary International

rotary (1).jpg Rotary is a global network of neighbours, friends and problem solvers who work together to improve lives in their own communities. Through The Rotary Foundation, Rotary members fund and run projects in health, water, education, peace and local economic development. In India, that work is supported from the South Asia Office, which connects Rotary clubs and districts with the money, guidance and compliance support they need to deliver projects well. Corporate Social Responsibility funding from Indian companies is one of the ways these projects get paid for, and it comes with its own rules, paperwork and reporting duties.

Role

You will be the person who holds the CSR programme together in India. That means talking to companies about funding Rotary projects, checking the grant proposals that come in from Rotary clubs and districts, getting the agreements and approvals right, and making sure results reach the donor in a form they can use. You will also lead a small team of CSR coordinators and correspondents, and act as the go-to source of CSR knowledge for Rotary leaders, clubs, staff colleagues and government-facing work.

Responsibilities

  • Reach out to companies in India for CSR funding, both alongside Rotary members and on your own.
  • Review grant proposals from companies, Rotary clubs and districts against RFI CSR guidelines, and approve them with the supporting documents in place.
  • Prepare business presentations and annexures for donors that show Rotary Foundation projects, results and delivery experience.
  • Review and approve agreements between the company, RFI and the implementing clubs, including tripartite agreements, and work with the Legal department to finalise MOUs and statutory agreements before signature.
  • Make sure all documentation, approvals and compliance checks are finished before a grant is recommended, and that approvals and payments happen within the set timelines.
  • Track government CSR rules and compliance requirements, share amendments with Rotary leaders, clubs, districts and internal teams, and recommend changes that keep internal guidelines aligned.
  • Review the CSR portfolio, programme requirements, application and reporting formats so the programme stays aligned with its Theory of Change and results are monitored and shared.
  • Supervise the CSR coordinators, correspondent and any temporary staff, check and report on their work, support their development, and handle performance or conduct matters when they arise.
  • Deliver presentations and training at club, district, zonal and regional events to build Rotary members' knowledge of Foundation and CSR programmes.
  • Maintain grant files, update the database for CSR contributions, reports and admin fees, and assist in internal and external audits.
  • Produce CSR communication material, including the CSR brochure, programme videos, the CSR webpage, annual report content and SOPs, and run a communication plan that shows what CSR projects achieved.
  • Work with colleagues at SAO and world headquarters, the Financial Services team and donor services on application processes, recognitions and awards, and answer CSR grant queries from Rotary members.
  • Resolve outstanding issues with clubs and districts, issue closure letters for compliant and complete grants, and update donors on the grants they funded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in the social sector, preferably a postgraduate degree in management or humanities
  • At least 10 years of experience in CSR teams at corporate organisations or a reputed NGO
  • Experience managing people, with an interest in supporting their growth
  • Strong knowledge of current CSR and sustainability trends
  • Experience writing CSR proposals and reports; experience reviewing contracts is a plus Strong stakeholder communication skills
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, fluent in English and an additional Indian language
  • Strong documentation skills, including experience supporting internal and external audits
  • Proactive follow-up skills and awareness of CSR policy documentation requirements
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • Good working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant computer applications

Benefits

  • Opportunity to lead CSR strategy and relationships at a global organisation
  • Direct engagement with corporates, government agencies, and Rotary leadership across India
  • People management and team development responsibilities
  • Exposure to CSR policy, compliance, and communications work at scale
