UN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women, established by the UN General Assembly in 2010. UNFPA is the UN's sexual and reproductive health agency, working to ensure that every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person's potential is fulfilled. The UN Resident Coordinator's Office in India oversees the coordination of development work across all 27 UN agencies operating in the country, ensuring that the UN system works together effectively toward shared goals under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework.

Role
You will support the planning, implementation, and monitoring of gender equality and youth development work across the UN Country Team in India. This includes coordinating the Gender and Youth Results Group, providing technical inputs, developing knowledge products, supporting resource mobilisation, and building the capacity of UN agencies, government partners, and civil society on gender and youth issues.
Responsibilities
- Support the coordination and monitoring of UN Country Team activities under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework, with a focus on gender equality and youth
- Participate in and provide planning and reporting support to Results Groups across UN agencies
- Analyse the situation on gender equality and youth development using research, studies, and statistics, and produce analytical papers to inform strategic programming
- Prepare concept notes, programme proposals, resource mobilisation tools, and budget inputs on gender and youth
- Support other Results Groups in developing gender mainstreaming strategies for their areas of joint work
- Prepare high-quality documents, knowledge products, and periodic reports for senior management and UN HQ
- Organise and support trainings for UN agencies, government, and civil society partners on gender and youth
- Coordinate joint advocacy and capacity-building efforts within the UNCT on gender equality and youth empowerment
- Provide technical and logistical support for UNCT retreats, meetings, and events
- Maintain regular information flow to UN agencies on the Cooperation Framework and communications from UN headquarters
Requirements
- Master's degree in International Development, Gender, Human Rights, Public Administration, or Social Sciences
- At least 7 years of professional experience working on gender equality and youth issues
- Experience providing technical support and strategic coordination with government, civil society, and international organisations
- Ability to design, manage, and monitor programmes for women and young people
- Strong writing skills with demonstrated ability to produce knowledge products for advocacy and policy use
- Familiarity with grassroots organisations working on gender or youth is an advantage
- Good spoken and written English and a national language
