Many children from low-income communities in India go to schools that do not give them a fair start, which makes college and a good career much harder to reach. iTeach Schools started in 2015 to change this and give every child an equal chance. It runs free, high-quality schools and a college-to-career programme for students with the greatest need in Pune and Navi Mumbai. iTeach is known for strong teacher training, a team culture focused on results, and schools designed around students. This role sits within iTeach's school leadership team, which runs each school day to day and moves it towards its vision.

Role
The Vice Principal leads one iTeach school together with the Principal. Between them they guide a team of about twenty staff, make sure every student learns and grows in all areas, and help the whole school improve quickly year after year. The Vice Principal also works closely with outside programme partners and community leaders so teachers get the support they need to give students an excellent education.
Responsibilities
- Plan the student week, unit and year based on the school's vision, context and resources
- Manage school operations, including facilities, data recording and submission, and government permissions, with the Network Team
- Build and sustain a caring, high-performing culture for staff and students together with the Principal
- Track how the school runs every day and push for better results each year
- Get to know each staff member well and set ambitious end-of-year goals with them
- Coach about ten staff members on planning, teaching and reflecting on their work
- Review each staff member's progress every quarter and find the key areas to improve next
- Lead regular culture meetings to keep the team aligned and improve how it works together
- Work with HR to create good career paths for staff and keep them in the team
- Find, check and partner with about five programme partners, such as football coaches and ed-tech providers
- Manage volunteers, such as teaching assistants, so staff have the help they need
Requirements
- 3 to 4 years of strong performance as a teacher
- 5 or more years of overall work experience
- A track record of successfully leading teams of 5 or more people
- Good project management skills
- Ability to lead one part of a larger team and deliver strong results
- Ability to plan school schedules and run school operations and data systems
- Ability to build relationships with programme partners, volunteers and community leaders
- Comfort giving regular feedback and reviewing staff progress
- Experience coaching and developing teachers is preferred
- Willingness to work on site at the school in Navi Mumbai
