Thanal
Thanal is a nonprofit charitable organisation based in Kannur, Kerala. It works with people who need long term rehabilitation support, helping them build the skills and confidence to take part in everyday working life. Its team brings together psychologists, special educators, occupational therapists and physiotherapists so that each person is supported as a whole, not just treated for one need. Training, work habits and placement support sit at the centre of this approach. This role sits within Thanal's rehabilitation team, which plans and delivers the day to day training that prepares people for suitable work.
Role
The Vocational Instructor teaches practical, job related skills to the people Thanal supports. You will find out what each person is interested in and able to do, then plan training that fits them rather than a fixed syllabus. Alongside the skill itself you will build work habits, discipline and confidence in a workplace setting. You will work closely with the wider rehabilitation team and help identify real work opportunities for the people you train.
