Role

The Project Coordinator will be the district-level operational lead for the CHE Program, overseeing a network of approximately 500 to 600 Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs). This is a field-heavy leadership role focused on CHE selection, training, mentoring, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring quality programme delivery on the ground.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with State Rural Livelihoods Mission (SRLM) teams, Panchayats, Self Help Groups (SHGs), and local stakeholders to identify and select eligible women as CHEs based on entrepreneurial potential and community acceptance.
  • Lead block-level mobilisation, orientation sessions, and screening to ensure quality CHE selection; support timely onboarding and documentation.
  • Ensure all CHEs complete 7-day foundational training and refresher sessions; coordinate with Training Managers and resource persons for smooth delivery.
  • Monitor training attendance, participation, and learning outcomes; support field-based mentoring where needed.
  • Serve as the primary support person for CHEs across the assigned district; conduct regular field visits to monitor service delivery, community outreach, and reporting quality.
  • Help CHEs resolve challenges in community mobilisation, digital reporting, service delivery, and supply or operational issues; identify and reactivate low-performing CHEs.
  • Build working relationships with district and block health officials, ICDS supervisors, SHG leaders, and Panchayat representatives.
  • Represent Bahaar Foundation at district and block-level review meetings; coordinate with government agencies and partners to strengthen support systems for CHEs.
  • Maintain district-level records and databases; track key indicators including onboarding, training completion, service delivery, household outreach, and CHE retention.
  • Submit regular progress reports, field notes, and updates to the Project Director; contribute to monitoring, evaluation, and learning processes with field data and insights.

Requirements

  • Graduate in Social Work, Public Health, Rural Development, or a related field. Postgraduate degree is an advantage.
  • At least 5 years of experience in community development, public health, women's empowerment, or livelihood programmes.
  • Minimum 3 years in field coordination roles working across multiple blocks or districts.
  • Prior experience working with ASHAs, ANMs, SHGs, or community health and livelihood workers is preferred.
  • Strong coordination, field management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Good communication skills in Punjabi and Hindi; English is preferred.
  • Comfortable using digital tools, mobile applications, and MS Office for data and reporting.
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and able to work independently with a strong sense of accountability.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20 days a month across the district.
