Role
Hasiru Dala is looking for a State Coordinator to lead their Social Protection program for waste pickers across Karnataka. You will plan, run, and monitor enumeration and social security initiatives, coordinate with field teams and partner organisations, manage budgets, and ensure programs reach the communities that need them most.
Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out state-level enumeration and social security programs for waste pickers, including mapping government schemes, identifying operational areas, and sharing findings with the central data team
- Work with partner organisations to define roles, build their capacity, and train field staff on mobile applications and program processes
- Prepare and track action plans, monitor weekly progress, and ensure timely submission of reports and three field case studies every month
- Manage the state-level budget, ensure proper use of funds, and support partners in submitting invoices on time each month
- Coordinate communication and field visits across funders, monitoring teams, Hasiru Dala, and partner organisations
- Collect and report accurate program data, support field assessments, and use learnings to improve program delivery
Requirements
- Experience in program management in the social sector or with NGOs, with strong coordination and stakeholder management skills
- Experience training and building the capacity of field staff or community groups, with the ability to support mobile app usage and troubleshoot with tech teams
- Ability to manage data, documentation, budgets, and reporting accurately and on time
- Basic understanding of government social security schemes and systems is preferred
- Problem-solving mindset with the ability to adapt quickly to field realities and travel within Karnataka as needed
- Languages: English and Hindi are mandatory; Kannada and Marathi are preferred
