India AI Division
India AI is an Independent Business Division of Digital India Corporation, set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) to deliver the IndiaAI Mission. The mission helps India build a strong and fair AI ecosystem by improving access to computing, building better data, supporting Indian AI talent, funding startups, and promoting safe and ethical AI use. Role
Support the day-to-day work of the India AI HR team. The Assistant Manager will help run attendance, leave, payroll, employee engagement, onboarding, exits, and policy work. The role reports to the Senior Manager – HR. There are 2 positions open.
Responsibilities
- Manage attendance and leave records, including daily monitoring, trackers, and reports.
- Maintain employee records, file HR documents, and keep HR databases up to date in line with labour laws.
- Process probation confirmations, contract renewals, and prepare monthly payroll inputs.
- Run the annual appraisal cycle and support the performance management feedback process, including form circulation, follow-ups, calculations, and drafting letters.
- Drive employee engagement events, internal communication, and information sharing across the team.
- Address employee grievances and support conflict resolution.
- Hand-hold new joiners through onboarding, induction, and training programmes.
- Run exit management and full and final settlement processes.
- Support employees with insurance enrolment and manage insurance data.
- Assist in HR policy formulation and take on related tasks as needed.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from a recognised university or institution. An MBA or postgraduate degree in HR is preferred.
- 2 or more years of HR experience, with a preference for prior work in a government or NGO set-up.
- Working knowledge of core HR functions like recruitment, performance management, and HR operations.
- Strong communication and people skills, with fluency in written and spoken English.
- Strong ethics, reliability, and ability to handle confidential information.
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Creative thinking and a problem-solving mindset.
- Ability to work across teams, drive new ideas, and stay calm under pressure.
