The/Nudge Institute works to end poverty in India by building stable livelihoods for people who need it most. They partner with women, farmers, tribal communities, and youth across 10 states and have already reached over 1.5 million people. Role
As a Block Lead for the Economic Inclusion Program (EIP), you will work directly with vulnerable women and families at the grassroots level. You will help them access government benefits, build livelihoods, and grow stronger as a community. This is a field-based role that requires regular travel within your assigned block.
Responsibilities
- Learn and apply The/Nudge Institute's program model for supporting families living in poverty
- Identify and select the most vulnerable women in your assigned area
- Bring these women together into small groups and self-help groups (SHGs) at the hamlet level
- Select and train community volunteers from local villages to support and guide these women and their families
- Help families connect with government schemes and social security benefits through community platforms and block-level departments
- Create livelihood plans for each family and help them access loans or credit from community institutions to start income activities
- Build the skills of community groups and volunteers so they can continue supporting these families in the long run
- Make sure all program activities are completed on time and follow the approved program guidelines
- Collect, enter, and report all program data on time
- Write case studies and help document learnings from the field
- Build and maintain good relationships with all stakeholders at the grassroots level
Requirements
- A Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Rural Development, or a similar field
- 0 to 4 years of experience in rural development, poverty reduction, livelihoods, or tribal development
- Experience working at block or district level with programs like NRLM or SRLM is a strong advantage
- Must have your own bike with a valid driving license as this is a field-based role
- Able to read, write, and speak in English as well as the local language
- Good communication and people skills with the ability to work well with communities and government officials
- Preference given to local residents, women candidates, and candidates from SC, ST, or other marginalized communities
