The/Nudge Institute
The/Nudge Institute is an action institute on a mission to end poverty in India within our lifetime. The organisation believes that a poverty-free India is not just a dream but an achievable goal, provided governments, markets, and civil society work together. Their approach is rooted in collaboration and practical action. The team partners with state governments, social entrepreneurs, and grassroots communities to design and deliver programmes that make a real difference. Their work focuses on three key areas: economic inclusion, social entrepreneurship, and community empowerment.
Role
This is a hands-on role focused on creating and testing new ideas to help families in extreme poverty. You will design "pilots" (small test projects), conduct field research, and work closely with teams on the ground to see what works best to help people become financially independent.
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end pilot design for the Economic Inclusion Program including problem definition, hypothesis, intervention design, and success metrics
- Conduct field research and stakeholder interviews to understand ground realities before and during pilots
- Collaborate with the Operations team to plan and execute pilots across program states
- Translate field learnings into structured insights and iterate on program design rapidly
- Work with Operations, Impact, and Strategy teams to embed evidence from pilots into broader program decisions
- Develop frameworks and playbooks that allow successful pilots to scale across states
- Communicate findings clearly to internal leadership and external stakeholders
Requirements
- 7 to 10 years of experience in management consulting, product management, or a new initiatives function at a startup
- Strong structured thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to break down ambiguous problems and design rigorous pilots
- Comfort with both quantitative and qualitative research methods
- Familiarity with data tools such as SQL, Excel, or equivalent is a plus
- Willingness to spend significant time in the field including rural areas with program participants and frontline staff
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across operations, impact, and leadership teams
- Ability to move fast, learn from failure, and iterate without losing rigor
- Written and spoken fluency in Hindi and English
- Passion for solving large-scale social problems
Benefits
- Learning and development wallet and individual development plan to support personal growth
- Internal role change opportunities within a growing organisation
- Be part of Charcha, India's largest social sector convening community
- High-autonomy role with real ownership over program experiments at scale
