Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI)
The Agriculture Skill Council of India (ASCI) is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship. It works to improve vocational education and create National Occupational Standards for agriculture and allied sectors. ASCI is the apex body for skill development in agriculture and is recognized as an Awarding Body by the National Council for Vocational Education and Training (NCVET). Over the last 13 years, ASCI has trained and certified around 1.6 million people across India, including farmers, wage workers, entrepreneurs, and extension workers.
Role
Plan, coordinate, and run Training of Trainers (ToT) programs across India for various skilling schemes. The role builds a strong pool of certified trainers and master trainers for agriculture and allied sector job roles.
Responsibilities
- Guide training partners to get their trainers ToT certified under various skilling schemes.
- Plan and launch ToT programs PAN India and publish the quarterly ToT calendar on the ASCI website.
- Pre-screen and approve trainer nominations.
- Identify, select, and certify Master Trainers through Training of Master Trainers (ToMT) for different job roles.
- Upload trainer profiles, job roles, and details on the Takshashila portal.
- Coordinate ToT assessments and follow up on issuance of trainer certificates.
- Manage part ToT for candidates who have cleared one certification.
- Coordinate renewal of certification for previously certified trainers and master trainers.
- Prepare budget estimates for regular and special ToTs.
- Prepare Trainer Handouts and Training Delivery Plans (TDP) for different agri segments and job roles.
Requirements
- Post Graduate in Agriculture, Allied Sector, Agriculture Extension, or Agribusiness, preferably from IRMA, MANAGE, NIAM, BHU, Vamnicom, IIPM, or other reputed Agribusiness Management institutes.
- Freshers or 1 year of similar experience in agriculture related industries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Excellent command of MS Excel and PowerPoint.
- Meticulous, process-oriented, with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong planning, organizing, and multitasking abilities.
- Able to manage multiple programs independently without close supervision.
- Clear interest in working at the intersection of agriculture and vocational education.
- Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative data and recommend actions.
