The/Nudge Institute

The/Nudge is an action institute working to build resilient livelihoods and alleviate poverty across India. The organisation works with women, farmers, tribal communities, and youth in rural development, agriculture, skilling, and economic inclusion, in partnership with 15+ central and state governments. Through its graduation approach, The/Nudge currently reaches over 1.5 million people across 10 states and is working towards serving 25 million Indians. It has also supported 200+ social entrepreneurs through its incubator, accelerator, and grand challenge programs. The/Nudge was founded with support from 130+ philanthropists, 40+ corporates, and 15+ foundations, all working toward a poverty-free India.

Role

The District Lead will drive ground-level implementation of the Economic Inclusion Program in East Garo Hills. Working with state rural livelihood missions and community institutions, this role focuses on reaching the most vulnerable rural women through the graduation approach, a proven model for durably pulling households out of poverty. The role requires strong field presence, stakeholder coordination, and a commitment to quality implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all project activities are implemented on time and with quality as per the approved Project Implementation Plan, Standard Operating Procedures, and Community Operational Manual
  • Coordinate with District and Block Mission Management Units for smooth project implementation
  • Support district-level projects under the PVTG domain
  • Plan and facilitate capacity building training for the project team and community members
  • Organise and lead project-related events at the regional and district level
  • Coordinate field visits by dignitaries and government officials
  • Ensure timely data collection, entry, processing, and reporting
  • Maintain proper documentation and submit reports to relevant offices
  • Support monitoring and evaluation of project activities
  • Manage relationships with grassroots stakeholders effectively

Requirements

  • Graduate degree required; postgraduate in rural development, rural management, agriculture, forestry, social work, anthropology, or a related field preferred
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in the development sector with a focus on rural development, livelihood promotion, poverty eradication, or tribal development
  • Prior experience in district-level roles within National Rural Livelihood Mission or State Rural Livelihood Missions preferred, covering institution building, social inclusion, and livelihood promotion
  • Own two-wheeler with a valid driving license is mandatory as this is a field-based role
  • Strong problem-solving, program management, and government liaison skills
  • Ability to work independently in a field setting with an action-oriented approach
