Role

As the Assistant Manager – Finance & Compliance, you will strengthen the organisation's finance and compliance function by reviewing financial documents, ensuring donor and statutory compliance, supporting audits, financial reporting, reconciliations, and maintaining accurate financial records.

Responsibilities

  • Review utilisation certificates, financial reports, invoices, vouchers, and supporting documents submitted by sub-grantees.
  • Verify expenditures against approved budgets, grant agreements, and donor guidelines.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, donor, and organisational financial policies.
  • Identify discrepancies, documentation gaps, and non-compliant expenses while coordinating timely resolutions.
  • Maintain accurate financial records and audit-ready documentation.
  • Prepare financial summaries, compliance reports, MIS, and management reports.
  • Support internal and external audits by providing financial documentation and clarifications.
  • Coordinate with programme teams and sub-grantees on financial reporting requirements.
  • Assist with accounting entries, reconciliations, month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Support budgeting, financial controls, and process improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 2–5 years of experience in finance, preferably within NGOs, donor-funded projects, or grant management.
  • Experience reviewing sub-grantee or partner financial documents is an advantage.
  • Strong understanding of financial documentation, accounting principles, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Note: Candidates with prior experience in NGOs, CSR organisations, donor-funded projects, or grant management will be preferred.
