This role sits within Jhpiego's technical assistance program to the Government of India's National TB Elimination Program (NTEP), working closely with the Central TB Division, State TB Cells, and the National Health Mission to accelerate TB elimination through health systems strengthening and evidence-based interventions.

Role
The Assistant Manager/Program Manager – Tuberculosis will provide technical and programmatic leadership in planning, coordinating, implementing, and monitoring national and multi-state TB initiatives. The role supports the successful execution of donor-funded projects by ensuring high-quality implementation, effective stakeholder coordination, timely reporting, and continuous program improvement, working closely with State TB Cells, implementing partners, and internal cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and periodic review of national and state-level TB projects in alignment with government strategies and donor requirements
- Develop annual work plans, implementation strategies, activity calendars, and risk mitigation plans
- Provide technical leadership for interventions across the TB care cascade, including screening, diagnosis, treatment, and digital health
- Develop and update SOPs, operational guidelines, training curricula, e-learning modules, and knowledge products
- Establish and maintain collaboration with NTEP, State TB Cells, NHM, and development partners; represent the organization in technical working groups and forums
- Design and facilitate capacity-building initiatives, including training programs, mentoring, and supportive supervision
- Coordinate with finance, procurement, and operations teams to ensure efficient project implementation and compliance
- Oversee project data management systems, ensuring timely collection, validation, analysis, and reporting of program data
- Monitor project performance against KPIs and donor milestones, and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare high-quality technical reports, donor updates, presentations, and policy briefs
- Support operational research, documentation of best practices, and dissemination of findings
Requirements
- MBBS/Other allied health sciences with MD/MPH/other relevant master's degree essential
- 5-12 years of progressively responsible experience in public health programs
- Minimum 3-5 years managing national or multi-state tuberculosis programs and Ni-kshay
- Experience working with Government of India, NTEP, international NGOs, or donor-funded projects highly desirable
- Strong project planning, implementation, and monitoring skills
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and partnership management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, DHIS2, or similar data tools strongly preferable
- Strong technical writing and proposal development experience
- Willingness to travel extensively to project states and districts
