Project Tech4Dev helps nonprofits use technology to reach more people and do more good. It builds open platforms, Glific, Dalgo, Avni and Kaapi, that changemakers use every day. Through its Fractional CxO Program, it also places experienced tech leaders inside nonprofits, so no organisation has to handle technology alone. Today it works with more than 250 NGOs, has a team of 60 people, runs over 12 community events a year and manages a budget of more than ₹20 Cr. It plans to grow its work across India and the Global Majority.

Role

As Chief Executive Officer, you will lead Project Tech4Dev into its next stage of growth. This is the most senior operating role in the organisation. You will raise funds, guide the platform heads and the CFO, and keep the organisation strong, sustainable and focused on impact as it grows by about half over the next three years. You report to the Founder, who will focus on international fundraising and Tech4Dev Global. You do not need to be an engineer, but you must understand technology well enough to lead technical people, weigh product choices and speak with confidence about technology, data and AI to funders and partners.

Responsibilities

• Represent the organisation with funders, partners and the media as a leading voice on technology, data and AI in development.
• Own the fundraising plan and target, and personally build and close relationships with individual donors, foundations and CSR partners.
• Manage the funder pipeline, including proposals, grant writing, donor reports and compliance.
• Lead one or two new experiments a year and grow the organisation's reach within India and across Global Majority countries.
• Build and lead the senior team, hiring strong leaders as the organisation grows.
• Keep a culture of trust and accountability across a fully remote team.
• Share goals, lessons and plans with the whole team regularly and clearly.
• Own the strategy, yearly plan and budget, balancing funds raised against programme and running costs.
• Guide the platform heads so each platform's plans match the organisation's strategy and funding.
• Hold each platform responsible for how widely it is used, the impact it creates and how it will last.
• Oversee the CFO and the finance, legal and operations systems the organisation needs to grow.

Requirements

-Track record as a senior operating leader, such as a founder, CEO, or business unit leader, with ownership of a P&L or similar accountability

• Experience building, scaling, and running an organisation, team, or venture from the ground up
• Proven ability to raise capital or funds and manage relationships with donors, investors, or partners
• Experience building or overseeing software products or platforms; comfort with open source or community driven models is a plus
• Technically fluent enough to lead technical leaders and make credible product and market decisions
• Able to lead through influence, set direction, and hold senior peers accountable
• A genuine, long term commitment to the social sector, with prior engagement such as board service, giving, advising, or volunteering being a strong plus
• Existing relationships with individual donors, CSR, or foundations is an advantage
• Comfort explaining AI and data work to non technical audiences is an advantage
• Comfortable working in a remote first, distributed organisation
