Role

The District Coordinator will provide strategic and technical support to implement the Intensified Malaria Elimination Project across four districts in Mizoram, working closely with the M&E Coordinator and government health teams to strengthen malaria surveillance and intervention.

Responsibilities

  • Support ADRA's field office operations and maintain a positive, effective team environment
  • Conduct periodic assessments of malaria intervention activities and identify implementation gaps
  • Develop district-specific operational plans aligned with state and national malaria elimination strategies
  • Coordinate training activities, supply chain management, and distribution of anti-malarial medicines with the District Vector Borne Disease Control Programme
  • Guide behaviour change communication and community mobilization activities
  • Set up and maintain monitoring and reporting systems, ensuring timely and accurate data tracking
  • Build partnerships with local NGOs, community groups, and district administrative authorities
  • Represent ADRA India at government and technical meetings at the district level
  • Lead capacity-building workshops for field coordinators and data entry operators
  • Organize regular training for community health volunteers and field staff on malaria elimination strategies
  • Review and consolidate monthly and quarterly project reports for submission to the regional programme unit

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Sciences, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in development projects, ideally in public health with civil society organizations
  • Experience in malaria or vector-borne disease control and familiarity with Global Fund project operations is an advantage
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with State Health Departments
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale health projects
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in project management software and tools
  • Familiarity with state and national health systems and policies
