iTeach Schools runs high-quality schools in partnership with the government, so that every child in India has the chance to dream big and achieve boldly. Its schools serve students from communities that are often left out of good education. iTeach works with students, schools and families to make education fair for every child. Many of its full-time team members began their journeys as interns. This role sits within iTeach Schools' internship program, which places interns in teaching and org-building teams across its school network.

Role

The iTeach Internship Program is a 1 to 3 month hands-on learning experience for young people who want to work in education. Interns are treated as part of the team from day one. They take on real work in teaching or in roles that help run the schools, such as counselling, recruitment, and partnerships and communications. Along the way, each intern gets a mentor, regular feedback and time to reflect on what they want to explore next.

Responsibilities

• Take on real work in a teaching role or a non-teaching role such as counselling, recruitment, or partnerships and communications.
• Support students, schools and communities through work that has a direct impact.
• Learn what it takes to run high-quality schools in partnership with the government.
• Meet your mentor regularly for guidance, feedback and reflection.
• Join Leadership Forum sessions with iTeach leaders and education sector experts.
• Attend workshops and learning sessions held for iTeach staff.
• Visit other schools in the iTeach network to see different practices at work.
• Reflect on your experience and use feedback to build your skills and confidence.

Requirements

• Be a student or an early-career professional.
• Able to commit about 25 hours a week for a minimum of one month. Internships run for 1 to 3 months.
• Be based in or able to work from Pune.
• Interested in hands-on work in a school setting, whether in teaching or in a non-teaching role like counselling, recruitment or communications
• Willing to work as part of a team and take feedback to grow professionally

Benefits

• Paid stipend of ₹7,500 to ₹12,000, depending on role and duration
