Smile Foundation works with children from poor families, and with their families too, through programmes in education, healthcare, skills training and women's empowerment. A group of young corporate professionals started it in 2002. Today it reaches over 1.5 million children and their families in 25 states, with 10 offices and over 650 staff. It has Special Consultative Status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and has been Great Place to Work Certified for six years in a row.

Role

As Manager for the Health programme in Bengaluru, you will make sure that people in poor communities get good, regular healthcare. You will lead the medical and paramedical teams on the ground, keep projects on track, look after the programme's money and data, and keep the Smile on Wheels vehicles legal and running.

Responsibilities

• Lead all approved health projects so they meet their goals and timelines.
• Manage the online MIS and PMS for Smile on Wheels projects and keep them up to date.
• Meet beneficiaries directly to check that health services are reaching people and are of good quality.
• Work with the health team to send project reports on time.
• Handle fitness certificates, registration renewals and road tax for all programme vehicles.
• Plan and lead health awareness programmes in communities.
• Hire, train and support ground teams, and help them stay.
• Build working relationships with government officials and bring them into the health programme.
• Study monthly GPS data on vehicle movement and write monthly reports that help decision-making.
• Visit programme sites to check the work and guide the teams.
• Arrange training for frontline health workers.
• Track progress against targets, keep live project dashboards updated, and help coordinators work with local media and the communication team.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Health Management, or a related field
• At least 5 years of experience in healthcare program management, preferably in a non-profit or NGO setting
• Strong knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and online platforms like Zoom and Microsoft Teams
• Willingness to travel and work weekends when needed
• Strong communication skills, able to both convey information clearly and listen well
• Good planning and organizing skills
• Ability to give effective presentations
• Strong decision-making skills based on data and available facts
• Strong attention to detail
• Good time management skills
• Collaborative team player, comfortable with group decision-making
