Role
As Officer - Relationship Management, you will be an ambassador for SVYM. You will meet donors and companies, tell them the story of the organisation and what its projects are changing, and turn that interest into lasting support. The work is a mix of finding new funders, looking after the ones SVYM already has, and making sure every supporter knows exactly what their money made possible.
Responsibilities
- Represent SVYM to existing and potential funders, sharing the organisation's vision and the impact of current projects.
- Manage relationships with existing funders and keep them close over time.
- Send regular project updates to donors so they can see what their support has done.
- Resolve donor concerns and escalations early, before they grow.
- Conduct market research to find new funding opportunities and understand where support is likely to come from.
- Handle retail fundraising activities.
- Re-engage donors who have lapsed and bring them back to the organisation.
- Increase the share of giving SVYM receives from existing donors.
- Cold call potential CSR and individual funders and secure meetings with them.
- Run strategic market scans to build a pipeline of leads.
- Write clear and convincing donor proposals.
- Deliver presentations to funders that hold their attention and lead to a decision.
Requirements
- Graduate or master's degree in the development sector, CSR, or marketing and sales.
- Freshers are welcome to apply.
- Professionals with 1-2 years of experience in the NGO sector are preferred.
- Strong spoken communication skills in English and Kannada.
- Strong written communication skills in English and Kannada.
- Proficient in MS Office, specifically for building reports and presentations.
- Knowledge of digital marketing is a strong advantage.
- Comfortable making cold calls and asking for meetings.
- Able to write proposals that explain a project clearly to someone outside the sector.
- Confident presenting to donors and company teams.
- Positive attitude towards the work and the people it serves.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Exceptional follow-up habits, so nothing with a donor is left hanging.
- Openness to learn and take on feedback.
